2011 AIR Taipei Open Call for Residence & Exhibition Proposals

2011 AIR Taipei Open Call officially kicks off! In nearly ten years, the bases of AIR Taipei have grown from one to three: Taipei Artist Village locates in the city center where the artists can easily access the public and the art network; Grass Mountain Artist Village situates in the Yangmingshan National Park where full of natural resources; Treasure Hill Artist Village sits in the unique historical settlement of village style where awaits to be explored by the artists to put creativities in.

There are three fellowships for international artists to apply. Selected artists will be funded with free accommodation and studio space for 4 to 24 weeks. Special fellowships also provide additional airfare funding.
1. AIR Taipei International Artists Residence (no limitation for nationality)
2. Special Project: Sister Cities of Taipei (for artists who base in any of the 49 sister cities of Taipei)
3. Special Project: New Immigrants Taiwan (for artists who base in the Southeast Asian countries or of the nationality of the region)

AIR Taipei also calls for Exhibition Proposals for Barry Room at Taipei Artist Village. Due to the small number of exhibiting spaces in Taipei and the financial difficulties that most artists encounter, starting from last year Barry Room calls for innovative exhibition proposals with free space charge and will continue in 2011.
