515 AT DAIRY HOLLOW
Colony Dining & Gatherings
At 515 Spring Street, dinner is served in The Writers' Colony great room Monday to Friday at 6 p.m., and what a dinner it is! Our Kitchen Magician Jana Jones learned to cook in the Czech Republic, under the tutelage of her grandmother, and her European-style gourmet meals are a big reason alums return to the Colony year after year. The great room is also where we hold workshops and host community events, from wine tastings to our monthly Poetluck, a potluck dinner followed by residents and area writers sharing their work with us.
KitchenAid Culinary suite
The Culinary suite was designed and renovated through a collaborative effort by KitchenAid and Renovation Style magazine. It's the perfect place for cookbook and culinary writers and bloggers to test their recipes, but it's also a comfortable, roomy suite with access to a deck and a front porch to sit and watch the world of Eureka Springs go by.
Langston Hughes suite
The Langston Hughes suite is tucked away downstairs in the main house. It has a private entrance and the writing room, with huge windows on two sides, looks out at Harmon Park across the street. It has a tub with hand-held shower and its own little kitchenette. Langston Hughes was formerly named Peach Blossom before the refurbishment/refresh sponsored by Charles Templeton. Learn more about the transformation here.
Maya Angelou suite
The Maya Angelou suite is upstairs in the main house. It has a queen-sized bed, stand-up shower and a view of the wooded hill across the street from the windows overlooking the writing table. The Maya Angelou Suite is one of our cozier suites with a low-sitting commode and a smaller shower. The Spring Garden suite was beautifully transformed into the Maya Angelou suite in 2019.
