About the event

The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow Offers a Memoir Writing Workshop by Cassandra Clark

The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow is thrilled to present a memoir writing workshop instructed by Cassandra Clark. Cassandra is a highly accomplished author with a diverse literary background. She’s been a ghostwriter and collaborator for numerous memoirs and blogs, and she has written screenplays and teleplays during her 20-year career as a Comedy Writer/Producer for TV sitcoms including the Emmy-award-winning TV show, “Designing Women.”

The Memoir Writing Workshop will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2020, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The cost for the class is $75 per person. Workshop attendees may reserve a writing suite at the subsidized rate of $75 per night based on availability and single occupancy. This is sure to be a fun and informative afternoon. The workshop is limited to 10 attendees so register early!

Some quotes from Cassandra’s clients taken from the acknowledgment pages of their memoirs include:

  • In A Different Bus: Journey of a Long Lost Heart, author Elizabeth (Boo) Maxwell said, Cassandra, “encouraged me to always dig deeper into my soul, past even my own defenses, to reveal (…) healing stories, painful truths, and cherished joys.”
  • In DEAL: Adventures of an Entrepreneur, author I.C. Deal wrote, “I found a delightfully irreverent, deeply intelligent and perceptive, and ferociously witty sitcom writer fresh from Hollywood, who made this journey not only a success but a pleasure.”
  • In Thinking Allowed: Personal Essays Along the Way, author Gary J. Fernandes said, Cassandra, “coached me on how to get the most out of my subjects, and mentored me to understand that writing a book is an evolving process and not an event.”

Cassandra presently resides in Dallas with her 35 lb. white tomcat, Joie; she cultivates in a rich inner world with a plethora of curiosities about everything; loves nature, travel, wisdom, humor, kindness, animals, creative arts, music, languages; and can yodel impressively when asked.

Since opening its doors to writers in 2000, The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow has made a lasting impact on the arts and literary communities providing uninterrupted residency time for novice and accomplished writers of all genres, including culinary, composers, and artists, without discrimination.
