SUMMARY:September Poetluck: Spotlight on Emerging Voices (NEW 5:30 START TIME)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the final Poetluck of the season with featured guest Jack Albert. Long time Eureka Springs resident\, restaurateur\, poet\, and self-described justice junky\, Jack has appeared in many formats throughout the decades. He’s most known for his culinary hotspots\, which have been the scenes for artistic\, holistic\, and political comradery from New York City to Northwest Arkansas. His poetry has surfaced here and there in small press publications covering a wide range of topics\, including his friendships with Allen Ginsberg and other intriguing characters. Through his work\, Jack explores the intersections of writing\, mindfulness\, and mindlessness\, putting his own quirky twist in the middle of it all. You can read more of his poetry at eMerge Magazine. Attendees are encouraged to bring a potluck dish to share. Following Jack’s reading\, the open mic segment invites participants to share original creative pieces (poems\, short prose\, essays\, or songs)\, up to 5 minutes each\, in a warm\, supportive room. This event is FREE and open to the public.
