DESCRIPTION:Join us for the final Poetluck of the season with featured guest Jack Albert. Long time Eureka Springs resident\, restaurateur\, poet\, and self-described justice junky\, Jack has appeared in many formats throughout the decades. He’s most known for his culinary hotspots\, which have been the scenes for artistic\, holistic\, and political comradery from New York City to Northwest Arkansas. \nHis poetry has surfaced here and there in small press publications covering a wide range of topics\, including his friendships with Allen Ginsberg and other intriguing characters. Through his work\, Jack explores the intersections of writing\, mindfulness\, and mindlessness\, putting his own quirky twist in the middle of it all. You can read more of his poetry at eMerge Magazine. \nAttendees are encouraged to bring a potluck dish to share. Following Jack’s reading\, the open mic segment invites participants to share original creative pieces (poems\, short prose\, essays\, or songs)\, up to 5 minutes each\, in a warm\, supportive room. \nThis event is FREE and open to the public.

Her newest novel draws on the true story of Norman Baker\, shaped by years of research in Eureka Springs and insights from local historians. DESCRIPTION:Pour It Out: Writing Through Life’s Turning Points \nA VIRTUAL reflective writing workshop with Jalissa Carter\nThere’s a moment in every wine’s life when it stops being grapes and starts being something worth pouring. Jalissa Carter thinks our stories work the same way. In this two hour virtual workshop\, you will be guided to reflect on some of the  “turning point” moments in your life\, and get curious about the stories that live inside these defining moments. \nUsing a wine inspired framework (think vintages\, notes\, and what develops over time)\, you’ll move through guided writing prompts designed to meet you exactly where you are. No previous writing experience required. There will be an optional time to share with the group in a safe and supportive environment. \nMeet Your Facilitator \nJalissa Carter is a Fort Smith\, Arkansas based author\, poetry workshop facilitator\, and wellness practitioner who has spent over a decade helping women find their way back to their own voice through creative expression. She’s the author of six books\, including Wedlope: Wine-Infused Poems for Weddings & Elopements\, and founder of Wedlope\, a creative brand built around storytelling and reflective writing. She’s led programming with the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum\, facilitates virtual sessions through ShareWell\, and is preparing to bring her workshop series internationally to London. She’s also a certified Master Life Coach and WSET Level 1 Wine Professional. \nThe Details \n\nWhen: Sunday\, November 8th\, 2:00–4:30 PM (Central)\nWhere: Virtual\, live on Zoom\nCost: $40 per person\nWho it’s for: Beginners through seasoned writers.\nGroup size: Limited to 20-25 participants for an intimate setting\n\nWhat to Expect \nWe’ll open with a wine inspired warm up\, naming a “vintage” from your own life.
