Join us in welcoming Jessi Barfield to the Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH) team! We're thrilled to have her on board as our new Colony Coordinator, where she will be assisting with office operations and greeting our writers-in-residence on their arrival. Of the new appointment, Managing Director Jeanne Glass says, "Jesse is a perfect fit for WCDH, with her warm, enthusiastic hospitality to our writers and her ready grasp of daily operations. She has embraced the Colony's mission and is a tremendous addition to our very busy office."
Jessi Barfield found the tranquility of Eureka Springs about three years ago, and decided to call it home. After ten years of working in animal sciences and veterinary medicine, she decided to follow another huge passion of hers… reading and writing! Born in Atlanta and raised in North Carolina, southern hospitality has been engrained in her work ethic. Jessi’s ultimate career goals are to return to school and acquire her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management, so she can grow with The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow. She would also like to begin to write reviews of local musical artists and venues in her free time.
The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit literary arts organization whose mission is to nurture writers of all genres, backgrounds, and levels of experience in a supportive environment that builds community, energizes creative expression, stimulates new thinking, and optimizes productivity. Welcome Jesse. I look forward to meeting you when I'm back later this year. I feel blessed to be part of the Colony's alumni writers class - what a rich and invaluable legacy!
